Weather is starting to get cooler and that means getting out the cooler for another GCBWOA rendezvous. The last 2 were cancelled due to lack of attendees so I am not going out on a crazy limb here. Beercan beach(bradenton/sarasota) or Shell Key in St Pete. Who is in and where would you prefer? Let's say October 27th or Nov 3rd. BBQ would be at my residence following and you are more than welcome to park your boat there overnight etc. You can also meet me at my place sat morning and we can caravan to our destination(usual practice for many).

Are you planning to do this on a Monday? 10/27 and 11/3 are Mondays.

The wonderful Pinellas County Commission as well as the P.C. Sheriff's office have decided that responsible boaters should not be allowed to consume or possess alcohol within what is now considered the Shell Key Preserve.

My advice would be the "New Shell Key" that is located inside John's Pass, or Beercan, or 3 rooker, or I saw a few boats on the north side of New Pass last weekend.

pw out.

I thought you could go somewhere by there and still drink beer?

Well looks like Eggmont key or Beercan in Bradenton then. Eggmont being weather permitting, beercan you can access just about in any conditions.

Not interested in this gathering, but I have been trying to gather interest among the Lanier bunch to make the trip down with me this winter if you decide on another Homosassa gathering. Late Feb. or Early March like last year would be great. Nautitauk will be wintering in Fla and said he may be intersted. Also trying to talk Kevin into bringing the Mnemshia.

My vote is for the 1st also, especially if Janice is there. Got plans for the 25th anyway.

Then the 1st it is!

Glad to see I have some pull somewhere. Not sure where to stay yet. I have to check with the warden. Might be one night with the kids and one night with Sherri and Andy ;-)All I do know is that we will probably need a keg of beer, especially if the deaf bastard shows up. I don't really believe that Stefan is deaf. He just puts those things in his ears so he can communicate with his planet while observing humans ;-)

Yes, I know I'm a sick bastard!!! I tried to get help for it once or twice. Just line up the KEG. That's all the help I need!!!
Tohsgib posted 10-06-2008 11:41 AM ET (US)     Profile for Tohsgib  Send Email to Tohsgib
I can do that...just hope some people show up to drink it. Ah the more for you, Len, and I in the worst case scenerio ;)

Janis says she is in...let's put down the bets now!

Len says he is in but who is in for the 3pm showing with an over or under bet?

Myakka...we saw him once in the late 90's I think.

Dave Neal also said he showing which would be 0-9 I think.

Anyone I missed besides the meatballs? There are nolonger any bookies willing to take that bet.

Just busting chops people...show up or blow up.

What up? Is Briguy going? I'm thinking that the SeaCraft get together is really close to Eggmont, but it may be Halloween weekend.

Ran down to New Port Ritchie early last month to pick up another F60. Could have spent the night but had no digits. 15 hour round trip (well I stopped for a beer, dontchano?). Hey Nick, DL says hello also. zot.

Tohsgib posted 10-08-2008 03:21 PM ET (US)     Profile for Tohsgib  Send Email to Tohsgib
Briguy should be there in either the Potter or the Montauk. If there is beer involved, he's on it like white on rice. What are ya putting twins on your 15? Are you going to the SC gig? I should be at that as well unless at the same day then I guess we will both be at each others rendezvous.
Tohsgib posted 10-10-2008 12:30 PM ET (US)     Profile for Tohsgib  Send Email to Tohsgib
SeaCraft rendezvous is AGAIN the same weekend at Desoto park in lower St Pete(by Shell Key). We could join up like we have a few times in the past but alcohol is not allowed on the beaches anymore.

0-9 ,heh. I will beg, borrow or steal a tralier and roll down the twenty miles of interstate 75 and be in the area at 9 am.
How far is beercan from the Skyway brigde ? I,ve been running the Newport down there once a week recently ( 22 miles from my dock, one way) grouper fishing. But I pick calm days .

Directions? Is there a ramp near by?

Mike

Tohsgib posted 10-27-2008 11:17 AM ET (US)     Profile for Tohsgib  Send Email to Tohsgib
Ramp is 1 mile from my house. Rt75 to exit 224, go west about 1 mile and make left on 45th Ave(barber shop on corner) then make 1st left and I am 2nd on the right.
dneal33 posted 10-27-2008 05:58 PM ET (US)     Profile for dneal33  Send Email to dneal33
To find the boat ramp, just google up , Manatee County boat ramps. Then go down to Ellenton ramp and it is 373 Shore drive.
I will be splashing the Newport around 9am Sat. I was going to put on all of the options on the boat that came with it (rear deck, front and rear pedestal seats, ski pylon, etc.) stuff that I have had in storage for twenty years. But I read that the king fish are moving in the area so I will be in full fishing gear.
I actually bolted all that stuff in last weekend and it looked good, but I like the extra space while fishing.

It looks like the weather is going to cooperate with you guys:

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 78. North northeast wind between 8 and 10 mph.

Tohsgib posted 10-28-2008 11:27 AM ET (US)     Profile for Tohsgib  Send Email to Tohsgib
In FL a 20% chance of showers means blue skies. 78 is perfect boating weather.8-10 will be pretty smooth, especially in ICW.

BBQ at my house afterwards.

Normally I would insert a sorry azz excuse here. Anyway, not going to make it to this one. I have had the boat out the last 2 weekends, first time since May! Maybe next time.

Nick- Been to Jersey 2 times since June. My 20th reunion last month had a little better turn out than yours I guess. 85 students ran the bar dry that night!

Should I get the KEG????
Tohsgib posted 10-30-2008 12:03 PM ET (US)     Profile for Tohsgib  Send Email to Tohsgib
No need for a keg being we only have maybe 5 boats going.

As far as Chris goes the odds were 2:3 so I lost a dollar even though I bet he would not show up. Reason for the bedt was so i could win the trifecta.

dneal33 posted 10-30-2008 05:11 PM ET (US)     Profile for dneal33  Send Email to dneal33
Will be at Ellenton ramp around 9am Sat. morning

I agree that a keg should not be needed, however I could bring a unopened eight year old bottle of Cabo Wabo Tequila that I am not allowed to even look at for more than a few seconds ( self imposed, eight years and one day ago)If we need more fire power:).

See ya on the river. Dave

Dave tide is going to be zilch at 9am. If you can't get in at that ramp call me for directions to another one about 4 miles away.

PS..the beast is bleached up, scrubbed down and ready to rocknroll w/ full tank of go-go juice.
dneal33 posted 10-31-2008 01:13 PM ET (US)     Profile for dneal33  Send Email to dneal33
I noticed that it would be low tide at 9 am. Ill give it a shot and call you if I need the other ramp.

The Newport is fueled up and semi pimped out with the rear deck and front seat. Im still bring some fishing gear, but not full tilt fishing stuff.

As far as the Cabo, Little is the key word.
Ann Marie and Candice told me I had a great time, I just dont remember.

A great time was had by all.

Nick with his cherry 1976 19 ft revenge.

Len with a really well set up 15 ft. classic
I dont think you can do much more on a 15.

Tom rolled up in a 17 Outrage that I would love to own.
Also enjoyed talking with Nicks buddy Dave, cool guy.

And thanks to the Ladies for putting up with us.

A really great area that I used to visit 25 years ago and still looks like it did back then.

Also while just goofing around waiting for the bunch, I caught over a dozen small grouper (sandwich size) but all just a bit short.

Thanks to all that made the trip, it was fun.

Dave
