I'm interested in feedback regarding overnight vehicle and trailer parking in Charlevoix, Michigan from people who have parked there overnight.

Where did you park? Did it turn out well? etc.

I contacted Irish Boat Shop and they said I could use that vacant lot at the southwest corner of Ferry and Stover Streets, just west of their property. The City ramp directed me to the same spot. Not quite sure yet how I feel about that option.

Thanks.

We were just there with 4 trailers and cars, for 3 days, and it worked fine. No problems or worries.

I parked my empty trailer (boat was in the water) there for about 5 days a couple of years ago, without any problem. It's not really what you would call a high crime area.

I often use the lot suggested for my trailer without problem. This time of year there should be little competition for space, so I wouldn't hesitate. Where are you planning to boat while in Charlevoix?

Thanks for posting your experiences with parking at that location. Great to hear that it has some good history.

Sam, depending on the weather, I'm headed to Beaver Island and/or Traverse Bay.

Moose-

Both would be great trips. Beaver island is 28 miles from Charlevoix-a long trip if the water is rough! If looking for another interesting trip, check out the Inland Water Route. Start in Crooked Lake, navigate the Crooked River to Burt Lake, then on to mullet Lake via Indian River. You can do this even if the weather is rough.

OK, when did the Charlevoix Light get the coat of red paint?
