I am toying with the idea of flying stand by to Miami on Friday Feb 12 and renting a car.

I will be going do not which day yet(it's my backyard), Saturday it's open longer but boy is it crowded. If you want to see everything it will take you two days, there are four or five different locations to the show. Renting a car is ok but you will try hard to find a place to park (try the Beach High School just north of the show for parking). Best to stay near the show and either take a shuttle, bus or a cab (trust me I know I was a firefighter there for 30 years). South Beach gets very crowded and traffic will be at a stand still. Are you just flying in for one day? Let me know take care...

Hey, thanks for the info. I work for Delta and can fly stand by for free. I may just go for the day (Friday) or spend one night. I must be back in Atlanta Saturday evening.
Is there a city bus or shuttle from the airport to the boat show?

I'm sure about a taxi, not so on a shuttle but I think so(a lot of time the crews stay on the Beach if you work with Delta try a crew shuttle), a bus would take to long and to many stops. You can fly into Ft. Lauderdale also its only about a 25 minute ride from the north, so if you can not get Miami try Lauderdale. You need to take an early flight or Friday night would be the best (Red eye out of Atlanta) then you could be at the show first thing...Let me know

Better book your hotel NOW, it maybe already too late. Travel seems to be picking up this year, and it seems more snow birds and yankees fleeing from the snow are here in mass this year.
