I'm planning to cruise the Mississippi River through Iowa this August and am looking for a cruising guide that will include charts showing marinas, water depths, bridge heights, and so on.

There are a few "Great Loop" crusing guides that (obviously) cover the Mississippi River. I don't think I've ever seen one that just covers the Mississippi.
If you just want charts, this is the chartbook I use:

I should also mention, the COE chartbook has very detailed bridge information.
It's the same chartbook the tows are required to carry.
There's no soundings, per se, because the river is channelled. Stump fields, wing dams and the like are shown, but like all charts their positions are approximate.
If you're interested, I can post few pages.

Forget Iowa, cruise the Mississippi in Minnesota! Much better scenery. Mn has spiral bound river guides for the MS, St Croix and Mn rivers. It is sufficiently detailed for trip planning and navigation reference.
Iowa has MS river guides by pool. I recently requested them and got 2 in booklet form and one printed from somebodies printer from there web site. Check out...
We cruise LaCrosse Wi to Guttneburg, IA a couuple times a year.
Stay between the marker bouys and you will have no problem. Of course there is always the possibility of a "deadman". Good luck, Hal, waseca, MN

Lo, and behold, my marina sells St. Croix and Mississippi river cruising guides.
I guess since I consider my part of the St. Croix and Miss to be my home waters, I haven't had much use for a cruising guide.
I think the o.p. has disappeared, but if you want a source for this, let me know.
