I am putting out the idea for a lake powell rendezvous, for folks who haven't been here, this is one of the prettiest places for freshwater boating that there is. I go there alot because I live in arizona but I don't have a feel for how many people would be interested. My thoughts would be to do it in october. The possibilities are endless for hiking boating camping etc. So lets see who wants to go and how far etc. You can travel for a hundred miles without seeing the same thing in multiple directions. I have the ability to cook for 20 people in camp, and there are multiple marinas for refueling, supplies and ice.

The plan so far is to go from antelope marina to Hite Marina, which is a distance of 130+ miles. Just above Hite is Dark Canyon, which is a phenomenal side hike on the lower end of cataract canyon. We currently have three boats going from AZ. We have an 18 foot outrage, a 15 foot sport, and a 22 foot outrage. So the total distance will be about 300 miles when you allow for side hikes and exploration of new canyons.

That sounds like an interesting trip. We made a couple of family trips to Lake Powell In the summer. October seems like a good time to go. The fishing and temperature should be more enjoyable. I will be unavailable the last week in October and the first week of November. I'll keep an eye on this thread. Dave

I'm in Mesa. I think the middle of October is likely to be the best, but I don't want to have a schedule built around my preferences. My schedule is still a bit up in the air. On the last trip the only Whaler we saw had a radar arch with lights on the top.
