Today I looked at a 21 outrage/1997 with a 225 Johnson oceanrunner,Hyd.steering,Factory T-top.The boat looks like it spent alot of time in the sun.All of the gel coat looked chalky. Not that sitting down is important in a boat, but other than the swivel seats at the helm,a person would be liminted where they could Sit.The boat was a consignment, and the dealer did not seem to interested in dealing the boat. The 21 had a VHF,Depth finder,GPS. all apelco. There was Two large fish boxes in the floor. I also looked at all the new Whalers they had.22 Dauntless,18 Outrage,21 outrage,23 Outrage,17 Montauk,All of them were powered By Yamaha's. I bought a t-shirt with a 17 Outrage on it and then stepped in and spoke with the sales people. No I did not buy a new Whaler because my wife would have *^%#@! me. Someday. See Ya,Ed Stone

Ed,The 21' Outrage was sadly one of the last decent hulls IMO to come out of the Edgewater plant. This is a terrific boat with an 8½' beam. A very large 21 footer. Very popular with twin 150's, but a single 225 would top 50mph. Thankfully, it has the non-euro transom. Seating was not a strong suite, (after all this is a fishing machine!) but a folding full-width stern seat was available. I have the near identical hull in a 21' Walkaround, great hull in almost all sea conditions. |
