posted 12-24-2000 08:53 PM ET (US) I took the 23 Outrage out in the gulf for the first time last saturday. The winds kicked up to about 15mph.I was happy the way the outrage performed.I did a little trolling and caught two nice grouper.I was out 20 miles in 80 ft. of water.I spent most of my time putting numbers in the Garmin 168. The only problem I had was the speakers I mounted to the T-top vbrated loose. At just over 3500 rpms I cruised back at 29mph.The merc's ran great.

Hey bigZ happy holidays to ya! I finally got a couple of days off and if the winds drop I'll be going out the first morning of next year.Today the seas were forcast at 8 to 12.With any luck Monday will be a good day. With the 23 I cannot take the shortcut across the flats on my way out into the gulf. What a drag now I have to follow the channel markers. I have less than 20 hours on the 23 outrage. I've got a lot to learn about this Whaler.
