change for this bad girl --- Saltwater Sportsman just did a review on this baby --- they come standard with twin 200hp Optimax for a mire 100 grand --- impressive though --- with an LOA of 28'8" and beam of 9'7" she'll cruise at 4000 rpm's at 32.5 mph and punched out at 5800 rpm will do a decent 47 mph --- nice over all package --- and the reviewer thought it was one super high quaility machine --- Z

Now, Sport Fishing I see did a report on the 26 Conquest --- (SF and SS are not related pubs) -- they were able to achieve 47.5@5,6000rpms top end --- 40mph@5000rpms and found economy at 30mph@4000rpms with 6 folks on board, 180 gal of fuel, 20 gallons of water etc --- again overall an impressive offshore fishing craft with very good accomadations for weekending --- also raved about the new Mecury "SmartCraft" guages and the low noise level, smooth running and fast cranking of the twin 200 Optimax. Tom PS sounds just right if you a oh say have 110 grand laying around in spare change :) |

A friend of mine just got back from a sales training session at Whaler. Said he ran a 26CQ with the twin 225s and it was a rocket ship. Dick |

I saw one of these at the Austin TX boat show last week and spent some time poking around the bilges. I have been very happy with my Conquest23, but now I have been spoiled good. Whaler did it right with this boat! No more removable hatches in the motor well. You can literally climb down in the bilge to access the pumps, sea cocks, and trim pump. All the hoses were double clamped, and wiring bundled and secured. The hardtop has diamond non skid on top and ladder like rear supports making me think it would be easy to add an upper control station. The integral platform the motors mount on has a big aft extension of the planing surface to add bouyancy in the rear and keep those motors above water. The trim tabs are recessed into pockets. I want one so bad it hurts to think about it! Price on the one I saw was 107K including trailer and twin Opti 200s, shorepower, galley, and AC. BillS (smo) |

Sorry Bill, I misread your post, the price range your mentioned I understood is for Conquest26. I am looking at Conquest23 and I love it. I currently have Outrage21, it's still a little cold and wet with my center console, one of my friend is looking at buying a new Conquest 23 with twin 150s. In my area when the wind kicks up the Conquest is the only one to keep you dry. But since I already bonded with my 21 Outrage I am going to stick with it for a while, I don't have any reason to jump boat yet. |

I hope that for this kind of money Boston Whaler dealers would offer a better customer service than what they offer for the rest of there craft. I have a 1996 Whaler "Dual console" and so far I am pretty desapointed by the craftmanship and there customer service, The problem I have is the gelcoat that is cracking all over the top of the boat and I was told by the dealer only what is the consider the HULL is cover under warranty, everything that attach to the hull if not cover. |

I suggest to write a letter direct to Boston Whaler to tell how unsatisfied you are, they will take care of it. I did it once and it works. |
