posted 02-19-2001 06:23 PM ET (US) i am looking to buy my first boat and I would like it to be a whaler. There are two that I am looking at. One is advertised as a 95 17' dauntless... the other is a 96 20' dauntless. Both are dual consoles. does anyone know if their hulls are like the new venturas or the new outrage's. I live on a creek that definately has some draft issues. Doen anyone have any advice on these two boats? or where i might be able to go to get some sort of spec sheets?

my 1995 brochure shows the 17DA with a draft of 12", length 17', beam 7',weight 1350#. 1996 20DA draft 15", length 19' 8", beam 8' 4", weight 2350#. Not super friendly to shallow water. You might want to look for a used Montauk, draft only 9". Dick
