I am getting a 13 Sport and plan to use it mostly in inland lakes in New England. I know that there are lots of weeds. The most impressive anchor I have found is the Chene fluke that weighs 3 lbs, does not require a chain and claims a 2:1 scope ratio. Typically anchoring in 20 feet of water one needs a minimum of 8:1 for a total of 140 feet of anchor line. The Chene would use 40 feet.
I would think that a mushroom would work fine but the Chene would be more versitile should I go in rivers or along the coast.
Thanks for the advice.
