AI	posted 03-18-2001 01:00 PM ET (US)         I purchased a Dauntless 22' at the Miami boat show. I have the option to have a Mercury engine install by BW, or a Yamaha by ny dealer. I would like to hear some recomendations on the size and the make of the engine that would go best with this boat. Thanks
lhg	posted 03-18-2001 03:00 PM ET (US)          Will they sell you the boat without an engine or rigging, so you can select a brand and any other engine Dealer of your choice? If so, you'll save a lot of money by going elsewhere. If not, go with Mercury from the factory, as it will save you several thousand HP to HP. On a boat like that, I'd go with close to max rated HP, either 200 or the 225 maximum.
