I think I better get a trolling motor to negotiate around the oyster bars. This is my first boat, a 2000 Sport 13. I think I'd like to control it from the "cockpit," but I am not sure. Maybe it can be controlled from two places. Maybe a stern mount tiller controlled would be best.

Has anyone any experience with this on a Sport 13?

While not an ideal location you could rail monutn a trolling motor (I am assuming electric) on the rail right next to the cockpit. West Marine sells a rail mount for clamp on motors. It is made of white plastic and allows one to mount a clamp on motor.
