I am the proud new owner of a 40 hour, freshwater used only 98 17 O/R. Boat has just about every option you could ask for, full fishing and comfort package, swim platform and my favorite, factory t-top with rocket launchers. Motor is a 135 offshore optimax w/a 19p mirage. Skeg shows no signs of wear,no missing paint never any encounters with the bottom. The boat was kept indoors in a storage. This thing looks like it could have left Edgewater last week. Took her out for a test run this past Sat. on the St. Johns river in N. Fl. Torrential rain and a flood watch greeted my arrival, the dock had 4 inches until it was going under. Got her out and immediatly felt how big and stable she felt compared to my Dauntless. Got on plane and the rain was monsoonal.I was'nt to impressed with the holeshot, alot of bowrise and it took a little more time to plane than what I am used to,but she did stay up nice at just under 3k which leads me to believe 19p may be a little to much for her,we'll see, I guess if I can pull 5200 trimmed out I'll be O.K. and mileage should be outstanding, the rain was to bad to try and see what she could pull. The Teleflex N.F.B. felt freaky and I'm sure I'll have some Q's about it once I get some time behind the helm. All in all I can't beleive my luck in finding my dream boat.I would like to thank my fiance for her love and support because without her this boat would be just that"a dream." Take care all, sorry for the long post. I will have many questions to ask in the coming weeks and I look foreward to hear all of your tips, advise and comments on every aspect of my new pride and joy. Glad I did'nt get that new motor I was looking at!

Congratulations! I too am a new owner of a 17’ Outrage having recently acquired a ’97. Mine is equipped with a 135 Saltwater series and I just added Doel-Fins to combat the bow-rise….they helped tremendously.
