Clint, I am not familiar with the layout of your boat and not sure what you need to know about downrigger wiring.

Throw what I do know out. I have used a direct wiring set up to the deep cycle house battery broken by a circuit breaker between it and the receptacle plug for the downrigger. So if your battery is mounted in the stern just fish the wires to it, find an out of the way but easy to reach spot to mount the circuit breaker, then mount the receptacle close to the outrigger -- Cabelas has all types of devices to wire these and trolling motors ---

Hope this was some help if not give it another try with a bit more information -- Tom

Clint,

The wires for my 2 Scotty Elecrics are routed from the Deep cycle in the CC of my Dauntless 14 to the stern. The recepticals are mounted about 6 - 8 inches above the scupper holes. I rail mount the Scotties and route their cable through the base of the side rails and plug them in. Works great.

Hey Clint,
I don't remember which Whaler you had.
Make sure you use marine grade wire of
the proper gauge. Also keep the lengths
as short as possible.
I wired two scottys on the 17 I had.
The batteries were in the center console.
I pulled the fire extinguisher out and
drilled a hole to run the wire underneath
the gunnel towards the stern. Scottys have
there own plugs.I mounted the plug on the
underneath side.On the port side I think I
followed the ground wire from the fuel tank
towards the gas cap.
I still have the scottys and may put them
up for sale.
Good luck!
