Hi, This is my first post. I know this is dedicated to the classic whaler but I was wondering if anyone has anything to say about the 12' Impact 120. It looks to be a nice boat. With a 40 hp engine it must must go pretty darn fast. But how fast? Also does anyone know the cost? $Cha$Ching?$

It's very expensive! Not sure but I think about $12,000. It was brought out to compete with inflatables used as tenders. Regards, Jay

Okay Then... I figured a 12' boat would be less money. Is there a center console 13'?

I just found some center console 13 footers on the reference page. The Super Sport Limited 13' looks tempting. If any one knows where I can get pics of the Super Sport Limited please tell me or email them to me @ boneydog56@aol.com (title the email "Boston Whaler")

Gracias

Sorry- Thought the Super Sport was a center console... just figured it out. Do you think it looks like one?

boneydog56,

You might try looking for a Dauntless 15 or a Striper.

I just had a chance to see a 120 Impact up close and personal! I think it's the most ridiculous little boat Whaler has ever made, and considering what I think of the prior Rages, this is saying something.

The price was $16,500, with a Merc 40 four-stroke, and it has NO room in it. This boat is nothing but a harbor toy, and it offends me seeing Boston Whaler's venerable name on it. Who ever approved this design for production must have been smoking something. I can't imagine any knowledgeable sportfisherman or yacht owner buying one of these for serious tender duty. As for saving your life in offshore conditions, like the classic 13 was used for, forget it. I'd hate to be in this thing in even 2' seas. No wonder they can't give them away! Let's see how long it stays in the marketplace.

Looks like I'm gonna go for a 13 footer. They are wicked cool.

My neighbor has his father in laws parked in the Driveway. I havenít got a good look at it yet but I know it cost around $18,000 with Merc 40 4 stroke I think. They say it flys on the water. I think someone here said it looks like a large bar of Ivory Soap.

Larry,

Why don't you really tell us what you think of the Impact?

Seriously, the Impact has a couple of nice features. I like the removable seat back. I like the swim platfrom/ladder coming off the side away from the motor. But I can't see this boat being nothing more than expensive toy or tender. I paid about that much for my Dauntless 14 and it is a lot more boat. The 13 Sport is definatley a better buy.
