Can anyone tell me if it is common to find nylon/plastic thru-hulls both below and above the waterline on a 1999 21' Outrage?

I found a fairly clean used on that I'm thinking of buying but would prefer brass or crome over brass tru-hulls.

Secondly, if I buy it can someone tell me if it possible to replace them with brass on this particular hull?

I own a 1996 17' Outrage and all of the thru-hulls are nylon. Considering changing them never entered my mind. Why consider fixing something that is factory install that will probably never fail? In the case of the 17' Outrage you don't NEED a plug in the boat. You use one only to keep water out of the main below deck storage/fish box. Not sure if the 21' is the same.
Good luck.

My 1999 21 outrage has all plastic thru-hulls too, why bother to change,
and when I removed the plugs
the water filled only about 1/4 of
the fish box, yes it floats!

i agree the plastic thru hulls are acceptable on a whaler since it won't sink. Otherwise
