Having been alerted by "lhg" to the Ficht history, I've been scanning the internet trying to get a handle on these new engines that our locally recommended mechanic is suggesting. I see the problems with the 1998 and 1999 engines, the OMC bankruptcy and the Bombardier overhaul. Does anyone out there have experience with a 2001 Evinrude?
