I have a '96 20ft OR which has a slight grey tint to the interior gel-coat. I noticed that Swellmonster's '98 OR doesn't have the tint. His whole boat is the same color. My boat is regular white on the outside, the whole interior from the rub rails on in is a little different. Does anyone have the same tint on their boat? Any feed back would be great!

That difference in gelcoat tint is subtle. I never noticed it on jimhg's c.1990 19-Outrage until it was side-by-side with an all-white boat.

Whaler started using the grey gelcoat interiors on some models after the Reebock take over. As mentioned, it was used on the 92-95 19' Outrage II's, and also on the Rages. An option was to have gray gelcoat non-skid two-tone on the 21 and 23 Walkarounds. I believe Brunswick discontinued this color after they took control.

My 1996 Outrage 17' is the same. I noticed it but never thought much about it. You would think it would be cheaper to make it all the same color.

I believe the color to which you are referring was called "pantone grey." It was used on the 1993 Special Edition Montauk interior, and many of the other boats of that era.

I, in fact, am considering using that color on the interior of my CPD order to cut the glare. The haze grey is a bit too military for me!

I like the color. It does cut the glare a little. So are you going with a classic hull, or a Justice. If you want to ask me any other questions about the 24 Justice, e-mail me and I'll give you my phone number. I have hundreds of hours underway in a 24 Justice, as well as hundreds of hours maintaining it. I would go for the classic hull just for the coolness factor. I really like the 22 featured in Cetatcea with the kicker engine etc.. Talk to ya later.
