On the two years that BW made the grey decks, did they do this with grey gelcoat or paint them with Imron or the like?

It had to be gelcoat. Check with and look under catalog, Boston Whaler, and then you can find the year hull you are looking for.
They had haze gray, navy gray and sport boat gray, etc

I have a 1992 Montauk 30th Anniversary. This model has grey gelcoat on the deck. This is not painted.

My 1996 20 OR has a grey tint to the gel coat. It's not really grey, but not white either. The hull doesn't match the interior gel coat.
