I am looking at a 95 19ft Outrage. My understanding is that 1995 was the end of that model design and 1996 was a whole different boat. It is the only Outrage design I believe that has a center counsel that folds foward to help get it in a garage which is important to me. Does anyone have one of these, how do you like it, it's postive points and and "wish it did that better" How does it compare with the 80s 18 outrage and the 1996 20 outrage that was made until 1998

Thanks in advance for any info

If it is an issue, you cannot install a t-top due to the movable console.

I have a 1994 Outrage 19 with a 150 Ocean Runner and simply love it. It's about 500 lbs heavier that the 18 and the weight makes all the difference in the stability through chop --- feels more like a 22 --- and still allows a true 45 mph with cruise at 25 or so at around 3000 rpm. The layout's superb. Plenty of storage space and easy to take care of. The tilt console is very access to electronics, battery, etc. The tank holds 72 gallons and allows me to take as long a run as I'm up for without fuel worries.

In summary, I don't know of another model I'd trade for, and have owned in sequence a 13, 15 Montauk and 25. Get it. You'll love it.

In my opinion it's a superior boat to the Meridian generation 1996 19' Outrage that succeeded it. It's hull had been in the Whaler line since 1982.

Whaler has yet to come up with a 18/19 Outrage that is as good, or that could be kept in the line for 13 years. It's still offered as a Guardian.

Check my post in the general section about 2 weeks ago. The 95 19 is 650 pounds heavier than the classic 18. The tilt console is funky according to a whaler rep. but the 19 has lots of nice storage spaces for family cruising and skiing. If you are looking at the 95 19 in Beaumont TX check the water stains on the side and ask about the rebuilt engine due to losing the water pump and a seized piston. Just in case that is the one in the boat trader you are speaking of.
