The hardtop on my 23 Conquest comes with 4 rod holders which isn't enough. I would like to add two more clamp on style on to the hardtop frame. Has anyone looked into doing the same?

I'm interested in good & bad experiences regarding the few out there for sale. The clamp-on straight tube manufactured by Lee's Tackle look pretty good.

Thanks,

Ivan

Ivan,
I really can't help you with your rod holder decision but I'm curious if you have outriggers on your 23. I need to install a pair on my 23 and can't decide to mount them on the hardtop ? or gunwales ? Any ideas or preferences?

Thanks,
Dave

Sorry Dave. I don't have any outriggers at all. For the fishing I do, they are more trouble that it's worth so I didn't get the option.

The Lee's rod holders ought to work pretty well. I saw some at West Marine here and they look about the nicest sturdiest you can get.

As far as outriggers, I don't have them on my hard top, but on my friend's 27 Tiara he has them on his hard top. Best solution I have seen yet. Out of the way, you don't trip on them when walking around the cabin, and easiest to operate at sea when the boat is rocking. Also look the best in my opinion.
