Cooler Seat on Montauk 170?

I took delivery of my new Montauk 170 with the fish package. The cushion on the cooler does not match the rest of the cushions. It does not have the pleats in the vinyl. Looks cheap! What do the rest of you have? I am just not happy with mine. I looked at the pictures of Rays (Tabasco) ref: 58-05 Page 58 of the Cetacea section and the reference section and they both have whaler material fabric. Did I get shortchanged?

Does it have the grey piping? The pictures in the 2003 cat and the 2002 single page flier for the 170 Montauk, clearly show the piping. The single page flier shows the pleats but because of the angle of view you can't tell in the 2003 cat.

No! The seat is just plain smooth vinyl. Ugly and cheep! The back rest is whaler quality.

My cooler cushion has grey piping around the base and on the top, pleats that extend 2/3's of the way across the width to a small section of grey piping.

My cooler cushion matches the RPS cushion. Grey line and pleats.......Jim

Probably some one stole it from the dealer and he replaced it with a cheap third party replacement. Tell them to get you an original or you will call whaler directly to complain.

A new cooler and cushion is coming from the dealer (via Whaler). Thanks to all that sent me pictures. Especially "Whalersman" Joe.
Somebody must have taken the original cooler and this one was the replacement. It just didnít meet the quality that I believed whaler would install.
I am starting to feel a little better now that the dealership is working hard on resolving this for me. I donít think that they changed it, I believe the dealer that they bought it from may have misplaced the original one. I am a person who likes all things to be in good order and working.
Thanks again! Itís great feeling to have the helpful people that respond to things like this on this forum.

I'm glad we all could help. We all new that you did not have the correct cushion.
Congratulations on your new boat and the correct cooler cushion.

Sounds like they gave you Igloo's own brand cushion, a very cheap looking item when compared to Whaler upholstery. Are they putting the 94 qt Igloo in the new Montauk? If not, they should be. It's the minimal size for comfort for two adults sitting in front of a console, any size Whaler.

MarineMax in Palm Island replaced the cushion and installed the correct tie-down straps on the 72 quart cooler. The cooler and cushion I got originally was just that ďcheapĒ. I am very happy with everyone at Palm Island, they took very good care of me and worked very hard at the replacement. The original one came from another dealer and they must have lost it or it was stolen. No one knows! Once Palm Island was made aware of the problem they looked up the specifications and took care of it without question. Itís hard to find a dealer that really cares about their customers.

Bigshot told me that when ya put the whaler cushion cover on the cooler, that it would hold more beer!

Cooler Question: How many 12-oz. cans will a 72-quart cooler hold? Same question with bottles. This is Whaler related since it is in a Whaler Cooler :)
