Jimm	posted 12-21-2002 09:03 PM ET (US)      While exploring the wires and such in the rigging tunnel of my Montauk 170, I came upon what looks to be a vacuum hose of about 1/4 inch external diameter. There is at least 4/5 feet coiled in the access port in the aft end. Does anyone know what it's purpose is? While reading the wiring diagram in the owners manual of the M170 it shows wiring for both a livewell panel and a battery switch. Does anyone have an idea when, if ever, they'll be used?...Jim
dscew	posted 12-22-2002 12:01 AM ET (US)          The vacuum hose may be speedo pick up tubing which would go on a fitting on the engine, or an externally mounted pick up, then to the speedometer on the console.
