With all the talk about the new Montauk M170,I would like to know one thing!
Since there is no stern seats, will a stern seat from a previous year fit?
Maybe one more question.....Does anyone know where you could have one made since the factory does not offer it?

I can't get to my Montauk tonight to measure the seat.
Since the 170 Montauk is wider I would expect the seat to fit but would it look good.
At around $1300.00 for the Montauk stern seat I would either build or have built a seat that fits the new Montauk.

Not necessary.....Just have cushions made for the two quarter seats. I had mine made in Flordia and they work well. Still have room to walk around in the stern area.

After Talking to a Whaler Dealer here in NC, I was told that Whaler has no plans at this time to manufacture a stern seat for the new 170 Montauk. It would need to be an all new design since the new Montauk does not have the inside lip for a seat to rest on. I agree with tabasco, having a couple of cushions made for the rear two quarters would make a great addition to the boat and still allow plenty of room to move around.

The stern seat in my 99 Montauk doesn't rest on the interior lip. It attaches to the floor with two heavy duty U shaped aluminum legs.
