I owen a 1991 23' walkaround and need to change the macerator pump for the head. A feat that seems impossible. We were able to get the screws out to free the motor but uable to reach the hoses. Has anyone had any exprence removing these pumps on this modle. Thanks toni

toni,I just bought a 93 23wa w/whaler drive and hard top.I only have a portable t in mine, however I'm in the proccess of outfitting it with electonics. They have the pannel next to the helm removed and it looks like you wood have ok access to that general area through that opening.
I have'nt had mine in the water yet due to 1 ft of ice on the lakes. I recenly read some old posts on this site that said the 23wa was a poor performer in a fallowing and quartering sea. What has your experience been?

Living on maui I get a lot of days with big waves and rough water and have been very impressed at how well my boat has handled. In addition I have many friends that have larger boats that were very impressed athow well my boat handled. IIn Nov. upgraded my motors to twin 140 Susuki 4strokes and love my boat even more. Only real trouble I'v had is finding crew that doesn't get sea sick.

I havent tried pulling that panel off. It felt soild and assumed there was no openig behind it. Thanks for the info will pull it off and check.

Runs great! I had 91 twin johnsons 150 ran good with those, good power, poor gph. They got 10-12gph at trolling so I had to watch the clock to make sure I didn't run out of fuel. The new motors are around 4gph, they'er quite and have enough power. I not sure how they compare to the other four strokes. Picked these because of Dealer issues and location. ie; only other dealers that I would use are off island.
astro thanks for the tip went home at lunch and pulled the panel off. Should allow enough room to get the job done. toni
