I am looking to add a dive ladder add maybe a swim platform to my 2001 Dauntless 16'. The current platform and ladder are somewhat small. Any ideas? Anyone done it? Anyone know who makes one? thanks Marty

Does your Dauntless have the little swimstep
hung off the back? It will handle a three-step
Windline ladder. See

And I know the integrated into the Euro transom
step on the 18 will handle the same ladder.

Marty, I've been diving off of mine since 2001. I has the factory 3 step off the back deck. I am assuming that you don't have any steps now. If so, then get the center post removable type. Just don't forget to stow it. If you do have the factory ladder then some suggestions: They will support you. I use mine and dive double steel tanks and full cave gear. I wouldn't do it in the ocean though, too bumpy. Remove the seat cushions on that side and put the bimini top in the up position, but don't open it. I sometimes tie a short line to it for a grab on the way up. I also position the motor for a place to put a hand on the way up. Last, but most importantly, keep the regulator in your mouth until safely on board. Nothing worse than drowning and all your friends laughing how you did it in 3 ft of water.

I actually removed mine. It seems that in heavy weather (I go to Canada in early spring and late fall), that it starts ripping out. So I took it off.
