I just purchased a 1997, 15ft Dauntless and didn't get any specs. Where can I get them? Also, it is powered by a 75 Merc. Although it is capable of holding a 75 HP it seems a little to much horse power. Any comments?

15'1" LOA
6'4" Beam
9.75" Draft
850lbs Weight
1300lbs Maximum Weight Capacity
1800lbs Swamp
6 persons capacity
75hp Maximum HP
30hp Minimum HP
20" shaft.

Just because it has 75hp doesn't mean you have to use all of it. The only down side is that the 75hp is a detuned 90hp, so you wind up with the weight of 90hp. Engine should live a long time with proper care.

You can get the specs of most recent Whaler models from BW's archived web pages:

I actually have the prints (somewhere)from Whaler. I have a 93-94 Dauntless that I put I Evinrude (aka Suzuki) 4-stroke on, two years.

I'll try to find the prints (which are jpg's) tonight!

Thanks for the response. I am a new Whaler owner. I had a 13 back in the 60's. Love the web site. Keep up the good work.
