I have a 23' OR with a T-Top and electronics box. I'm thinking about installing a satellite radio in the electronics box. Any suggestions on where to mount the speakers for decent sound. Thanks for any help.

Anyplace but on your boat. Music is not
meant to be shared on the water.

Where's that sound-seeking Stinger?

I agree with Chuck (Triblet) but I think we'll lose the battle on that one.

NY Guy, If you wish to install speakers, the best place is on the console facing aft away from salt spray for longevity.

For best sound, you may wish to consider self enclosed speakers (Paradigm) or fashion a small box to mount under your T-Top with the speakers facing down. This will allow the sound to fill the boat deck without increased volume lost to dispersion. By keeping the sound focused in your boat, you may not offend those who do not wish to hear your music.

The T-top option allows you to sell the boat to those who may not want the speakers and can therefore remove them easily.

NY Guy,
As long as your music does not imped on others I have no problem. Play it is as loud as you want, just don't force it on others. With that said... There is mounting hardware and enclosed speaker systems that can be mounted on your tower. Many inboard ski boat manfactuers have such mounting hardware. The wiring in run inside the tubes for speakers, lights or whatever. Check out a Mastercraft dealer in your area or you can email me and I will set you up.

Good Luck
