Can a bow rail be added in addition to or replacement of side rails, or is it a factory option? The boat is a new leftover that I will pickup this week.

The 2002 catalogue shows the bow railing as an option which deletes the side railing on the 130-SPORT. It sounds to me like you would have to remove the side rails in order to install the OEM bow rail.

Precisely how those railings are secured to the hull is a bit of mystery. I have been curious how they are fastened to the hull. From what I recall, they seem to extend into the interior of the hull, but since the angle of each leg is different, I would like to know how this is accomplished.

[I had previously posted some incorrect information in this thread which I deleted--jimh]

Thanks Jim

I picked up the boat on Thursday, but the weather has been impossible. It came with the cushion package and they are quite thick, this makes the bow seating even higher. The railing would add a real measure of safety.
