Has anyone had any luck or have info to share on those small solar battery chrgers that plug into the cigarette lighter adapter on a boat. I thought this might be a way to keep both batteries fully charged when not around and an outlet is not near by. Thanks!!!

You may want to re-post in performance or general topic section. I am thinking of purchasing one of these as well and would like to get some feedback.

Problem is kids....they aint waterproof. I got one wet and the solar panel corroded and R.I.P. Great idea if you have a cover that allows sunlight to come through a windshield. I doubt putting it in a clear tupperware would help much or allow enough solar through.

I use a solar panel to charge the battery on my sailboat all the time - no problem. The one that is use is the flexible panel from, I think, unisolar. There are three sizes that provide up to 1.5A (if memory serves). They work great.

I am adding a trolling motor to my D15 and I can't have electrical power on my dock (another whole story). So, I found this device called a Stealth one charger that will charge the trolling battery off of the motor alternator - this should work great.

The people at Stealth One say that there are alot of people that use their thing for charging from a solar panel. You could probably do the same and not have a problem with it. This would be especially useful if you did it with a two battery system.

I am not exactly sure how to apply this, but I am pretty sure it would work. They also have a number of units that are not listed that they use for special applications. Give them a call.
