I picked up my re-rigged 18-Outrage last weekend. I feel like I have traded in my riding lawn mower for a lexus. There is no comparision to the optimax - and I won't have to go the shop every monday. If there are any issues associated with the weight, I could not sense them. The boat was very quick to plane, ran strong and smooth right up to 48 mph. I was actually shocked at the smoothness. It seemed to never run out of power, nor was it ever straining. It is a fantastic combination that I would highly recommend. The idling and quiteness were as well outstanding. I am so glad to be optimax free.

Aren't you a 'bit' over the little yellow plate on the power? Maximum for the 18' Outrage is 150 HP. How will you insure it and sell it?

[Changed OR 18 "Operating Room eighteen" to 18-OUTRAGE, a Boston Whaler boat.]

I think Hugo has a 2000 18-OUTRAGE, which is rated for 200-HP. It is a totally different boat than the classic 18-Outrage c.1980-c.1992.

I figured that combination would work out fine for you. I bet you will have many trouble free years with that motor. Enjoy..

Did you go with the trim tabs? Sounds like the Honda meets your expectations. Cheers!

I have not installed any trim tabs yet. The performance is such that I cannot imagine what I would gain. Thoughts?

Glad to hear of your successful upgrade. I am truly jealous. That boat with the Honda is a gem!
