I have a 170 Montauk, 90hp 2 stroke Merc with standard 2 six gallon gas tanks. I seem to be getting about 5 miles to a gallon of gas. Is this somewhat accurate.

I did order it and sent my check to them last Tuesday the 10th of June... Ray what is the turn around time for delivery and what is the average fuel useage for the 25-26 gallons in the 27 C Pate Tank... Can I say 5 X 25= 125 miles! HC

a larger tank like a pate would be nice but I keep the boat over the water on Galveston Bay. There is a marina down the canal from the house but gas is almost 2 bucks a gallon. So I like the idea of portable tanks. I am limited in range though. Fishing the bay is not a problem but to get to the gulf I have to go 5 miles to the pass so that causes a little gas capacity issue. So I just put another 6 gallons in the back.

Marina gas is expensive, that is why God invented Jerry Jugs to transport fuel from a land based fueling station to your vessel. About $7 a can, you can buy 4 or so for what a 6 gal tank costs......get the Pate.

yea you are probably right, a larger pate tank is the way to go. I wonder why, with so many owners upgrading tanks, Whaler doesnt offer a larger custom fit tank as an option.
