The brochures suggest a deeper draft for the 24, is it fair to assume then that the 24 has a sharper deadrise and perhaps a better ride in 2-3 foot chop? Anyone have a performance data between the two in terms of cruising speed and mpg? Owner's thoughts? Thanks

Had a 24 for about 4 years and have had a 26 going on three seasons. No comparison in ride, the 26 is much better. Takes the chop much better.

mustang7nh: Are you talking about the 2003 24 or the mid-nineties version?

I'm talking about mid 90s Outrages not the new 240 Outrage.

Massoutrage: High cruising speed (35-40mph with some economy if that is possible in the 3500 - 4000rpm range) and comfort in 2-3 foot chop short wave period of Long Island and Block Island Sound off New England cost. I've also found that having a Whaler that can back down and plane at as low a speed as possible is important when seas continue to build in that 3-4 range.

I would be interested in hearing a more detailed comparison between your 24 and 26 if you would be kind enough. Thank you very much.
