jim_usa	posted 07-22-2003 09:41 PM ET (US)             More and more bass boaters are looking at boats like whalers (Dauntless and Montauks) that cross over from shallow water rivers and lakes into the rougher water of bays. A swivel seat option and trolling motor plug like the Dauntless fishing package on the Montauk would be a huge seller considering the affordability of Montauks.
bsmotril	posted 07-23-2003 09:31 AM ET (US)             Jim, Triton makes a full line of bass-fishing/coastal crossover fishing boats. Basically, they are bass boat type hulls, no carpeting, and marine grade stainless components. They are growing in popularity on the TX coast where there are plenty of good bass lakes within a few miles of the coast. Seems this would be a good market for Whaler to jump into with a revised Montauk. BillS
