I purchased a spare wheel/tire for my 2003 Montauk 170 EZ-Loader trailer. There does not seem to be adequate room for a spare tire mount on the trailer so I'm looking for what has worked for you. What mount did you use? Where did you mount it?
Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm tired of carrying the tire in the back of the truck.
Thanks,
Rodger

These might work, they are angled. I saw one on a classic.

I went to the Local Trailer store and bought a new spare tire, galvanized wheel, and galvanized wheel mount. I had to move the crank up jack at front of the trailer either forward and to the other side to allow the Galvanized wheel mount to be set with wheel facing the passasnger side of the vehicle or co-captains side of the boat. The wheel mount was put on the captains side facing the co-captains side and there was just enough room for the jack stand to turn the jack handle. I do not think it could fit laying down behind the bow support. The New wheel braket / spare will fit. I am pretty sure I did have to switch and move the jack at front forward to allow enough space to turn the handle... HC

I used a U bolt and mounted it between the front roller and the crank up jack on the passengers side. I had to move the crank up jack a little to allow the crank arm to move freely but it fits perfectly. I can't believe the dealer didn't sell me one.
