sorry about the initial listing. I just rec'd from daves upholstory,BW's original cushion mfr a stern seat for my '03 170, The seat functions well and is quite comfortable, but I am concerned about it's durability. Has anyone else purchased this seat yet ?

Still waiting to see a photo of the seat. Is this a cushon that goes on the existing steps? Are there back rest cushons also?

Hi All,

Go to this website :

then click on the link "Boston Whaler" in the Lake Yard's Dorset Yacht Club Ltd. window

then enter the site and click on the 170 Montauk link.

You will find a pic of the 170 Montauk with the stern seat fitted.

Is this a factory option?

How much?

Looks like the same seat used in the prior 17' model. The local dealer has one of these seats listed at $1100 mounted in a 17' non-current model. Ouch. Jim

The stern seat doesn't look like a very good installation. It wasn't designed for this boat but for the older model where it fits perfectly. ( I have one in my 94 Montauk). The 170's that I have seen pictures of where there was a cooler installed in the stern looked much more practical. You can sit on the cooler cushion, use it for storage and still use the stern boarding steps (seats?). Seems like a better solution and much cheaper to boot.
