I am looking at one of these for the family boat. I have daughters antd the head is a big deal to mom and the girls. The boys don't mind as much. Mostly running in TVA lakes in middle/east Tennessee, but 1-2 trips a year to the gulf (AL/FL panhandle). I want to ski, cruise, bass fish, striper fish, near shore and some runs out into the gulf to the closer wrecks and rigs. Seems to be the ideal boat for this , but then I am just reading BW's brochures. How is this boat to ski behind and what is it like offshore?? thanks

Can't really tell you how it would be to ski behind, but all the Dauntless Hulls are great offshore. Nice and dry, sea worthy. I'm sure it would be fine to ski behind unless you are a total purist and need the no wake inboard sort of ride.

I take ours on a large river with heavy boat traffic and I am constantly amazed at the seaworthiness. I have had her out in 40+kn of wind in 4' wind driven waves and didn't get a drop on me. On top of that, she won't sink. The 22 should be terrific offshore.

I have the Dauntless 20 with the opti 225. This is a great offshore boat. It can take large waves and chop with no problem. With my small family I have a very safe, protected feeling. As for skiing, I sold my BW 17. That is the best ski boat. The Dauntless can pull skiiers but has a large wake. Its a lot of fun as you can bring several people to watch. Wake boarders love the curl of the wake.
You will never be sorry about the Whaler. After 5 years you can sell it for 80% of what you bought it for. Paul
