Interpretation:

Ok folks as best as I can make out from my years in Sicily, (speaking Sicilian mind you not italian, difference is like talking to someone from Texas) this is what our friend Roberto is trying to say.

"How much longer do I have to wait for pictures of the Boston Whaler?

"My private enthusiasm drops day to day...."

"You, SVEGLIA, are a sweetheart and am enthusisatic for the whaler to become part of our family"

"please send pictures of the only highest quality"

anyone else read it differently? Was I off?

Jeff

Roberto,

I hope that was right; my Italian is poor to non-existent. I too would love to see the pics, but jimh already said he'll get to it--just need to be patient.

knot at work,

You got the first two lines right. The second paragraph was something about feeling part of our (Whaler) family and that he knows he sent lots of high quality pictures. At least that's what I understand.

Benvenuto a continuousWave!

OK, OK, some one please translate for me.

Roberto, remain calm.

OK, enough translation.

This is not really the right forum for this, but excuse us, let me settle a few things.

I love Italy.

My favorite NPR correspondent: Sylvia Poggioli. I just love her voice. When she says her tag line, I want to fly to Rome.

My favorite movie: IL POSTINO. What sadness!

My favorite actress, most beautiful woman in the world: Isabella Rossillini.

My favorite musical instrument: TIE: mandolin or concertina.

My favorite salad dressing: French's Italian. (Wonder how that translates?)

Roberto, have patience, good things will come.

The guy who writes Cetacea, he is very busy now. When he gets a chance he writes about Italy, its beautiful boats, its beautiful women. The bum has been on holiday for six months. He comes back soon. We all have good time.

Relax, drink wine. Enjoy.

Ciao,

--jimh

jim,

I love all of the above too. Hope you went to see Cinema Paradiso too. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when my wife and I went to see it.

My translation:

GIUSTO, GIUSTO, circa traduce prego per me. Roberto, rimane calmo. APPROVAZIONE, abbastanza traduzione. (wonder come quello traduce?) Tutti abbiamo buon tempo. Distendasi, beva il vino. Goda. Ciao, -- jimh

Ryan,
I was wondering about that too. The UBB code page doesn't address that:
