I would appreciate any advice on the fair price I should be paying for a leftover 2003 Ventura 210, with

--225 Optimax
--fishing package
--canvas package.

Dealer indicates the List price is $52k and he is asking for $49,250 before the BW rebate.

Thanks for your help.

Gerry

I would call around to other dealers. I have seen this boat, similarly equipped with a galvanized trailer, for much less than that.

If you do not rely on your dealer too much after the sale, I would do an internet search and call all the dealers asking for their best price out the door (all fees included). Some may balk at doing business over the phone, but be very firm and tell them you do not have time to travel all over the place Also tell them you are going to buy this week and if they do not wish to offer a price that's OK. Have each dealer place their offer in writing and either fax it to you or email it. After you gather the information, go to your local guy and give him the last shot at the sale.

I would also look to out of state dealers since the boat can easily be shipped for a few hundred dollars. I would expect the low 40's as your target price.

I had a 2001 21' Ventura with a 200 yamaha hpdi, with Extended warranty and tandem aluminum trailer sold for about $35k. A 2003 should be about $45K, with trailer, extended warranties and fully loaded with all the options.

FYI: I bought a 2003 model with Merc 225 4-stroke in March '03.

I was only able to get them to go 15% off MSRP... Here's a break down.

Base price 52031
Merc 225 4-Stroke 3467
Fishing Package 1521
Head w/macerator 437
Trim Tabs 893
Freshwater Shower 579
ski pylon 358
Suntop w/boot 1012
bow filler cushion 300
Canvas Cover pkg 869
Weather curtain set 1330
Total 62797
15% discount (9419)
Boat Show Discount (3000)
Freight 830
Total 51208

Yeah they are expensive but in my opinion so far - you get what you pay for...

Hopefully thats helpful for somebody...

redecks; hope you're enjoying it as much as I did. By the way I still have the clear plexi replacement cover to the glove box I had made by the Whaler vendor if you are interested. I mounted my chartplotter in there and than I could keep the box closed with viewability.
