Any owners out there able to say for sure: will the 2003 Montauk 170 fit into a standard garage with a 7 foot tall door? Or is center console too high? No worries as to width or length (garage is 24 x 36).
Thanks,
Marsh

Sorry, I park my Montauk on the side of my house, behind the fence but... my fence is 6ft tall I do not see the center console when it is behind it....

No such thing as a standard garage door. Mine are a bit
higher than usual, I had one house where they were a bit
lower. My Montauk 167 JUST fits.

Measure your door accurately. Then find an M170 JUST like
the one your want (esp antennas and trailer) and measure it.

Check the length too. If the trailer has a long tongue, it
could be more than 24'

What Chuck says is true. The door itself is usually 7'0" but the frame it backs up to is less. And how much less varies a lot. Measure from the floor to the frame, and make sure the bottom of the door is fully above the frame when it's opened. Not all are.

With a trailer hitch that puts the trailer level, I'd guess a 170 is about 6'10" or so.

Also keep in mind you can gain an inch or so by airing down the trailer tires.

Should have no problem just measure your height and width when the door is open.

I have a continental swing tongue model trailer with a 90hp 4 stroke. The rig fits into my 20' garage with 3" to spare. height is not a problem.

Does anyone know the 2005 trailer width?

Thanks,

Another thing to check is how level the driveway is just outside the garage. If there is an upward or downward angle, it may affect the height you are able to put into the garage because of the angle it will cause the trailer to assume.

Depends on your speed when you go into the garage. High Sierra

my garage is double wide, but the height is a little shy of 7'.
Montauk 17 and a Montauk 170 can fit inside.

When I had the montauk 17, i had a removable tongue on the trailer.

When I got the montauk 170, i had a swing tongue on the trailer.
