Hey Gang,

I read in some previous post about someone having a seat problem with a ventura 18...I have red patches coming through the back to back seat...I can't find the post but they said whaler replaced it under warranty...I phoned whaler last week and spoke to Jim and he said it was mold and not a warranty issue...Anybody have any info???

Thanks,

Scott

I had a 1998 Ventura with the same problem, although it showed up fairly soon and was replaced.Purleish/redish color they had a vendor blame game going on and decided it was best just to screw the customer.

This is, in all likelihood, a red mildew similar to the pink stuff you can see around tubs and showers. It grows inside the fabric backing of the vinyl. If you can get to it, soaking in mildew remover and then flushing liberally with clean water will get rid of it. If oyu can't, you can try to clean from the finished side, although this is designed to shed liquids and may not be entirely successful.
