I looking @ a 2001 Conquest 28 , Was wondering about refrences from anyone with hands on experience regarding handling /sea trials and fuel consumation with twin 250 Yamaha's. Any info good or bad would be greatly appreciated. In 2004 Whaler went with 255,275,& 305 Conquests, eliminated the 285 for some reason.

I have a 1992 27 WA with twin 250 Yamaha's. They are older than what you are looking at, and the new ones will do better on fuel.
I burn around 21-23 gals per hour when I set the tabs running about 27-30 MPH (GPS) She has plenty of power and I love the Yamaha's. When it is time to repower (A LONG TIME I HOPE...) I will look at the 4 strokes for the fuel.
Everyone I know who owns a Yamaha loves them and swears that it will be the only brand they will ever have, including me

Captian billy,
Thanks for the info, the larger hulls and higher HP. sure have a big effect on fuel consumption. I have a 1989 25 ' Revenge 8.5' beam with twin 200 mercurys , I burn 13gal/hr
@ 22 Knots +_.The 28 Conquest has a 10-4" beam.
