Since the boat show is a few months away I though I would ask those that have seen the boat in the flesh so to speak a couple of questions on seating. The pedestal seats, does anyone know what they look like? Hoping they are nice and comfy since I plan to spend a lot of time on the boat waiting for something to happen. Also any idea what the "sun lounge with storage" option is?

Thanks for any info

Can't comment on the comfort of the pedestal seats. The "sun lounge with storage" is a storage box that fits in the arc between the built in bow seats/storage. It comes with a cushion that covers all. It is incompatible with the forward console flip-seat option, though.

The seats on the Nantucket are great. I thouhght I wanted the leaning post until I checked out the seats and decided to go with them. They roatate and are adjustable front and back. I was concerned with the live well but they do not block it.

I'm not sure about the sun lounge, none of the boats I've seen have had it.

If I am looking on the nice pictures on the whaler site for the Nantucket the one that shows the Console where you can see the bow of the boat with the huge storage ( second row first picture) is the Sun Lounge, minus of course the cushions so you can see all the wonderful storage. Very sweet. I really wish they would label the pictures so you can tell what your looking at.

Do you know if the storage stays dry?

Thanks Kline for the info on the seats. I think that's what I'm looking at. Better on the back than leaning all day :)

I browsed around but I did not see any images of the pedestal seats, nor were any seen at the boat shows which were the source of the many pictures seen of the 190 NANTUCKET in the CETACEA article.

Does anyone have an image of the pedestal seats available?

I might want a more offshore boat again and have looked at the Nantucket. I could not figure where you you would put a fish cooler that would hold a large fish, like a whaoo or dolphin. Please correct me if I'm wrong but no fish box??

For big fish, get one of those long fish bags. They fold up when not in use so they don't take up a lot of space until you need them. They come in a large variety of sizes. Buy one big enough to hold whatever fish you're targeting. Fill your ice chest with as much ice as it will hold, then transfer ice into the bag to keep the fish cold until you get back to port with it. I've used one for years, and it does a fantastic job of keeping fish fresh all day.

If you go to then click on their used boat inventory, scroll down to the first 19' Nantucket you'll get a picture of the Nantucket with the seats. It's one of the few pictures I could find. I could scan you some pictures of mine (before I covered her up for winter) if you wish.

My dealer switched my leaning post for the seats (they fit into the same base) on the day I picked up my boat. I think I am going to be happier with the seats. (I have two daughters) and will use the boat for more than just fishing! (wakeboarding tubing, cruising etc.)

I can't wait for spring!

If you haven't covered her yet some photo's of the seats and maybe some shots of the console area, including the storage would be great.

Of course I took some pictures before covering the boat up (I have to get through the winter somehow). I'll scan them and snd them to your e-mail address.
