The two boats look very similar. Is the Dauntless pretty much the replacement for the Outrage 17 after they stopped making it? How do they differ?

They both have the Accutrak hulls and do look similar. The Dauntless 160 is about a foot smaller with same size beam and 200 lbs lighter with a fuel cell about 10 gallons less.
As for replacing the Outrage 17, I'm not sure it's that cut and dry. The Outrage series was intended for offshore use while the Dauntlesss line is for inshore use with the ability to handle occasional offshore conditions. The Dauntless does have a the semi-vee hull with self bailing cockpit but not quite the same freeboard height as the Outrage.
