Just launched my new Dauntless in the Chesapeake Bay yesterday, and had a couple of questions for my fellow owners, based on their experiences:

1. Underneath the boat, there are two egg shaped cages protruding, what are these for? Is that where you put the transducer? No mention is made in the manual.

2. Have any of you installed a pumpout for the porta potty (by running pvc to the outside of the console), would you recommend it?

3. Do any of you have a startup checklist you can share (check oil level, turn on battery, prime gas, etc)?

Any experiences in what to do (and what not to do), is greatly appreciated,

To find the transducer location, you must have a Windows-based PC, and go to:

http://www.whalerparts.com

If you've not been there before and installed the viewer, click on Help/FAQ and then click on the button that says Install Plug-In

Once the viewer plug-in is installed, click on Transducer Locating Models and select 220 Dauntless from the menu.

That will bring up an AutoCAD drawing with the transducer location identified.

I'm pretty sure that the cages you are referring to are the water intakes for the livewell and/or raw-water washdown system.
