Just purchased a Sport 130 to use as a tender for my houseboat. It hasn't even been in the water yet. Compared to the 13' jet boat I'm replacing the Whaler offers very little enclosed storage space for items such as life jackets. The dealer suggested in Igloo cooler to keep behind the seats. I'd apprecaire suggestions from some of you experienced owners.

Go luck with the new boat.
We have no problem with storage of life vests.. we wear inflateable PFD's (SOSpenders) Otherwise a cooler works well, as does a Dry Bag.

Or just a bag. My PFDs came in a nylon bag, it eventually
gave up in the sun and salt, and Adm. Linda and I made a new one.
It's made so that it clips to the rails on my Montauk, which
saves deck space. When we anchor to dive, I can just flip
it over the rail and it's outside the boat and out of the

A friend has the same 130 Sport you mention. I have a 13' "classic" Super Sport. We were discussing the differences just last weekend.
If you are familiar with the Super Sport, it has a storage area under the helm seat which connects to additional storage with a lid/cover behind the helm seat. The entire storage area is 'suspended' off the floor for adequate drainage etc.
(See the Reference Section onder 13' Models)
If the same set-up was offered in the 130 Sport, would you be interested?
I would be interested in your thoughts.
