Anyone else experiencing throttle slippage from this motor?
It backs off by itself by about 500 RPM's.

Jim, there should be a friction adjustment (screwdriver type) under the bezel if you have a benicle type throttle and if you have a side mount Merc throttle box the adjustment is forward on the housing and is finger adjustable... check it out! Spruce Creek Navy

The paperwork from your purchase should have included a manual titled "Mercury Mechanical Console Control" for
MCC 4501/4502 Series control. Page 10 has a diagram, explains where to find the Throttle Friction Adjustment Screw and how to adjust. You will find a nylock nut not a screw and it will not take much of an adjustment "Clockwise" to resolve your problem. I am sure this wil help. If you can't find the manual let me know so i can scan the page and send it to you.

Thanks for the replies. I found the adjustment on the throttle. It is working much better.
