Clark Roberts	posted 06-22-2004 06:56 AM ET (US)             Jim, there should be a friction adjustment (screwdriver type) under the bezel if you have a benicle type throttle and if you have a side mount Merc throttle box the adjustment is forward on the housing and is finger adjustable... check it out! stompy27	posted 06-23-2004 06:34 PM ET (US)             The paperwork from your purchase should have included a manual titled "Mercury Mechanical Console Control" for MCC 4501/4502 Series control. Page 10 has a diagram, explains where to find the Throttle Friction Adjustment Screw and how to adjust. You will find a nylock nut not a screw and it will not take much of an adjustment "Clockwise" to resolve your problem. I am sure this wil help.
