The wife finally let me go fishing this weekend and I fished lower New York Harbor on early Saturday morning. Way too hot but I did manage a 12lb bluefish that I released. On my way back up the river at around 1:00pm I finally saw a Verado.

First you squint a little, because you know the motor is black but it doesn't look like anything you've seen before.

As I got closer, I saw the boat was a Fountain and it had three 275 HP Verado's hanging off the stern.

In my haste to take a picture, I think my camera auto focused on my bimini strap, hence a little blurry. The guy looked like he was arguing with the girl in the boat so taking pictures was not such a good idea anyway as he was staring me down. This was near the Intrepid on the West side of Manhattan.

Hopefully I didn't just mess up the link.

Thanks for that interesting sighting report. I think this is the farthest north that any Verado engine has been seen. Most of them are within 100 miles of Miami, Florida.

I don't think the guy's mad Ron. I think he just wants to know if you can spare a little gas. :)

Former President Bush has a similar Fountain (no cuddy) with 3 275 Verados on a private lift in Kennebunkport, ME; beautiful boat. Next to it are two large inflatables with pairs of Merc 300s.

Here's that Fountain you just mentioned Alex.

Fountain says in their add that the Navy's fishing team uses their boats. I wouldn't mind doing "validation and verifcation" on that contract. Step 1: Top speed test... Step 2: Monthlong fishing trip test...

Does your marina carry the 92 octane gas that these engines require?

Jimh,

I saw a Verado on a Dauntless 220 in Richland, Michigan last week.
It is huge. I really hope that these motors take off for Mercury.

Twin Verado 275's on a 320 Outrage on my local dealers lot.
Think it would be expensive?

I spotted one on the cover of the June/04 edition of Design News. There was an article about materials used that I didn't read. I know, I know...I've got to get out of the office more.

Royboy,

Saw that article too.

Bunch of Verado stuff plus that Design News article you wrote about listed in a previous thread.
