Nantucket SS Prop Theft

Well, I took a buddy of mine out the other day to give him a first ride on the new Nantucket. As I was preparing to back the trailer down the lauch ramp, he informed me that there was no prop on the new Optimax 150. The boat is stored on a trailer on the lot at the marina, & security is provided on site. Obviously propeller theft is still a probelm, & the replacement cost for a stainless steel mirage prop is over $600. I just wanted to point out to readers on this site the value of a $50 investment in a McGard prop lock, which I just picked up from West Marine today. Wish that I had known about them earlier.
Very unsettling knowing that anything not locked down on your boat can be stolen.....nasty people out there.

Steve, thanks for the info. I too have been concerned about prop theft on my 170 but haven't moved on it. I will now. Hope you're enjoying your Nantucket in spite of this.

Sorry for your misfortune. That must have been an ugly situation.
Thanks for the tip about a prop lock.

If it will help, I know where you can buy Mirage Plus props all day long for $400. Kenyonpowerboats.com. Outside of FL, only additional cost is shipping.
