My 95 Dauntless 17 needs a powerhead. I may trade it in. Was at dealer today and am thinking of buying 18 Ventura. I really like the layout.

Any comments or experience with this boat.

How about Optimax Saltwater 150 engine?

Thanks

Mark

Have a 1998 Ventura and am happy with it. Good all round boat. Use it on the Long Island Sound tubing, knee boarding, and my favorite "FISHING". Have the 150 Optimax plenty of power with some to spare. Once the kids are grown can see myself in a nice outrage. Guess that will have to wait for now!

I just got back from the Berkshires. My sister and her husband have a beautiful place there on the water. They have a Larson 18' bow rider with a 135 mecury. I have to admit that it is much more practical for water sports with kids than my montauk. I may look again at the Ventura.
